I’m Melissa Liversedge…
I have been practising yoga for over 25 years. It has always been a part of who I am.
I am really passionate about bringing the skills and knowledge of yoga to each of my students. My classes are fun, upbeat, inclusive, sometimes challenging, but always open to everyone. There is nothing better than seeing a simple instruction change the way a student is able to open their body, or when a life long stiffness becomes something more surmountable. Alongside this, is the moment when concentration becomes something intangible. the busy mind is silenced. Physical and mental energy are restored. this, for me, is yoga.
It is a privilege to witness and to be a part of each journey.
the iyengar method
There are many different forms of yoga with different names, which can be confusing. Iyengar Yoga is one the most practised form of Yoga in the world, named after its founder B.K.S. Iyengar. It is for everyone, no matter age, fitness or ability.
the iyengar FAMILY
Sri B.K.S. Iyengar was born in Bellur, India. He had a difficult childhood, suffering from many illnesses. His father died when he was 8, leaving the family living in great poverty. Yoga helped him to get through these hardships, and he ended up being one of the greatest yoga teachers in the world!
MY CLASSES
My classes are open to everyone. Beginner or more experienced, fit or unfit, no matter your age, you are welcome, and I look forward to meeting you!
