firstly, don’t be put off by the word ‘equipment’. These are simply props I use to help different shaped bodies get into a comfortable yoga pose. It seems like a bit of a faff, but I promise you will soon see the benefits of all the kit!
As I teach from place to place, i bring a limited amount of equipment (blocks, belts etc) with me for people to borrow.
ideally you should have a mat, but i have several that can be used if you are starting out and unsure if yoga is for you. please let me know in advance and i can lend you one of mine.
Please bring a blanket.
If you are going to become a regular practitioner of Iyengar Yoga, it is really useful to have the following items:
1 yoga mat
4 foam blocks
2 cork bricks
1 or 2 belts
1 bolster
1 blanket
the equipment is an investment, so there’s no rush until you are sure. just let me know, and borrow mine!
